The local McDonald’s that has been providing service and food to the Durant community for years will be closing its doors this weekend.
A 100-day rebuild of the restaurant will begin this weekend. On Sunday night, the McDonald’s will close to start the rebuild process.
Kathy Lopez-Thorley, the local owner/operator, said during this time the employees from the restaurant will continue to work for McDonald’s at other nearby locations.
“We appreciate our customers and will keep them updated during the rebuild process,” Lopez-Thorley said. “We will also plan to celebrate the new restaurant once it is open.”
After the rebuild is complete, the McDonald’s will have two drive-thru lanes and an indoor play place, in addition to new interior and equipment.
