A book signing was held Friday at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center and Library.

Ron Mahaffey was present from noon to 4 p.m. signing both books he has authored, “Annie” and “Sequel to Annie: The Secret.”

“Annie” is the story of Cody Miller and a military nurse named Annie, lovers During the Vietnam war separated until destiny brings them back together.

“Sequel to Annie: The Secret” is a journey back in time as Annie and Cody discover secrets of their families’’ past.

Mahaffey said while the second book simply expands on the story of Annie and Cody, the first book is actually based off of letters he received from his friend Rick Maxwell during the Vietnam War.

Mahaffey did not go into detail about his friend or the letters from the friend who died in the war, but said the story of Annie is what he imagined if his friend had lived.

Mahaffey said this is the second signing he has had for his books. The first was in Coalgate a few weeks ago.

According to Mahaffey, there was more traffic at the Durant signing. He said many people here were interested in the books.
