Softball and Baseball District Round-Up

Many Texoma teams were in district playoffs this week. The season ended for some, but others will move on to Regionals next week.


In Class B baseball, the Boswell Scorpions claimed the District 13 title. Boswell posted a 14-1 win over Eagletown and 10-4 over Bennington Tuesday before eliminating the Bears Wednesday with a 10-0 victory.

The Scorpions move to 15-7 on the season, currently ranked No. 14.

In Class A District 16 play at Rock Creek, Achille was eliminated on a 16-4 loss to Caddo and 11-1 loss to Rock Creek. (See full story for other playoff information.)


The Bennington Lady Bears became the District 14 champions Wednesday at Caney. Bennington began by beating Thackerville 12-0, then took two from the Lady Cougars, 7-1 and 6-2. The Lady Bears, currently ranked No. 12 in Class A, will go into Regionals with a 20-9 record.

Class 4A District 11 champs are the Calera Lady Bulldogs. They won three games Thursday, defeating Colbert 9-1, and Antlers 11-0 and 9-1. In the day’s opener at Calera, Antlers took down Colbert 7-4. Calera is 26-7 and ranked No. 17.

In Class 3A, No.1-ranked Tushka took home the District 15 title, eliminating Caddo and Clayton. Caddo blanked Clayton 7-0 in the first game Thursday. Tushka then crushed Clayton 20-2 in three innings. The Lady Tigers clipped the Lady Bruins 11-7 in six and a half innings. But their next matchup wasn’t as close, with Tushka taking it 11-2.

Silo (15-11, ranked No. 17) is the Class 4A District 10 victor. The tournament Friday was moved from Wilburton to Panama. The Lady Rebels defeated Wilberton 10-0 before taking two from Panama (11-1 and 11-3).

The Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletics Association will release Regional playoff pairings Monday for baseball and slow-pitch.
