How about a tasty way to help make sure every child in Bryan County wakes up to find a toy under the tree on Christmas morning?
The Durant Noon Lions Club will host the 32nd annual Spaghetti Dinner 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at the Bryan County Community Building. Take-out is available. Tickets cost $6 and can be purchased from any Lions Club member, or visit www.durantlions.org to request tickets and have them delivered to a business.
This dinner is the main fundraiser for the Lions Club and all proceeds go toward funding its two biggest initiatives, Bryan County Toys for Tots and the Healthy Vision projects. It does seem like Christmas is way down the road, but the club must start early to raise the funds needed for the Bryan County toy drive.
The many Healthy Vision projects, such as free eye exams, are a year-round effort and in continuous need of funding. May is Healthy Vision Month, so eyeglass-collection boxes will be available at the dinner also. Bring any old, usable eyeglasses to donate.
The club greatly appreciates the community’s support.
