said Lions head coach Josh Michael, “For a lot of these girls this was their first ever High School event, so to finish in 2nd place as a team was really great. Our leader on the court today was Vanessa Thomas. She played really well today. She is only a sophomore and to win the # 1 singles championship is a great accomplishment.” said Michael.

“The girls did a great job today. They played hard and finished strong. Our number one doubles team of Ryan Schuessler and Rachel Routledge really played well today.” said Lions head coach Josh Michael, “They played some really tough opponents and won 2 of their 3 matches. With both of them only being freshman this should only be a sign of great things to come for both of them.”

“This was our first boys varsity event of the year so it’s nice to come out with the championship. The boys really earned it today. Most of our boys from our regional championship team are back from last year so we should have a real good year.” said Lions head coach Josh Michael, “Although everyone played really well today I think our number 1 doubles team of Arthur Thomas and David Reddout really stood out. They lost a really close match in the finals to a really good team. They were dominant throughout most of the day and I was very proud of their performance.”
