CADDO – It was Jarris vs. Jack in a Thursday pitcher’s duel between rivals Silo and Caddo which tilted in the Rebels’ direction in a 5-0 win.
Jarris Hamilton of Silo and Jack Wright of Caddo, two of the area’s top hurlers, both threw complete games. But it was Hamilton who came out on top with five strikeouts and only two walks in a three-hit shut-out of the Bruins.
Wright allowed six hits, walked two and was rung up with a balk call in the game. He also fanned three Rebels and his defense supported his effort to keep Silo scoreless in five of the game’s seven innings.
Silo quickly scored three runs in the first inning and tacked on two more in the third. Hunter Stephens, Lance House and Hamilton tagged hits in the first.
Andrew Bolin and Leonard Sandler scored in the third on a two-RBI single for Kyle Tate. Bolin laid down a textbook bunt, stole second and Sandler walked to set up Tate’s feat.
Tanner Grace, Triston Paris and Josh Ringle recorded hits for Caddo. Ringle’s lead-off double in the fifth was wasted as Hamilton fanned two of the next three Bruins hitters and got Patrick Joines to ground out as well.
Caddo (5-2) will visit Calera this afternoon, while Silo (4-1) hosts the Latta Panthers in a bragging-rights matchup between two of the top three Class 2A teams in all of Oklahoma. The Rebels will also be in Florida next week for games against Sarasota Christian (11-0) and Seffner Christian (4-4).
