Karla Leigh Parks and Chad Wayne Speer were united in marriage on Sunday, March 16, 2014. The wedding was held at the Valley of the Falls at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Valley of the Falls is a setting of waterfalls that surround a Greek-like Parthenon under which the ceremony took place.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Parks. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Parks, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Houser, and the late Mr. Haynie Burkhalter.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Speer, and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Sartin. He is the grandson of Mr. Don Speer and the late Matilda Speer and Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Butler.
The bride wore an elegant ivory satin wedding dress accented with crystal beading around the waist. She carried a bouquet of white roses tied with royal blue ribbon.
The groom wore a charcoal gray suit and royal blue tie. Mrs. Kelli Teafatiller, twin sister of the bride, served as her matron-of-honor.
The groom’s brother, Mr. Josh Speer, served as the groom’s best man. The couple was joined at the wedding ceremony by family members and friends.
On Saturday, March 26, the couple was honored at a wedding reception hosted by their families. The reception was held at the Massey Building in Durant.
Round tables, covered with silver tablecloths, and topped with bouquets of white roses and baby’s breath, completed the décor of the room.
The guests were served a buffet of Hors d’oeuvres, along with a beautiful wedding cake, made by the groom’s aunt. The bride’s niece, Miss Rilyn Teafatiller, handed out silver wrapped chocolate kisses to the guests.
The music for the event was provided by Mr. Donnie Hyde. The couple has made their home in Calera, Oklahoma.
