Icon Construction celebrates 10 years

Durant City dignitaries, Tim Rundel, Durant City Manger and Durant Industrial Authority Executive Director Tommy Kramer were on hand as Icon Construction’s Vice President Eric Salomone, Vice President of Manufacturing Mike Stoica, and Icon President Mansour Khayal gave employees service and attendance awards.

Icon Construction Inc celebrated their 10th anniversary Friday with a catered lunch and awards ceremony for employees service.

They honored those with perfect attendance by giving out checks also.

Several of their employees had 5 or 10 years service to the Bell family owned company.

For 10 years, Icon Construction has provided space solutions for markets including military, education, healthcare, government and commercial and residential manufacturing.

The Durant facility has manufactured almost 1,300 modular units.

The success of the Durant facility has paved the way for over $100 million in revenue for the southern-based construction company.

Vice President of Manufacturing Inc. Mike Stoica said about the employees and attendance records, “It’s an awesome thing. It’s hard to keep employees. Their dedication to be here 5 and 10 years says a lot.”

Icon has an office in McKinney and Cincinnati, Ohio with the manufacturing taking place at the Durant facility.

Executive Director of the Durant Industrial Authority Tommy Kramer said, “The Icon family are special people. That’s the culture, the fabric of the Icon family and employees. It’s such an honor to have them in our community. They are improving the quality of life in our city.”

The majority of the construction actually takes place inside Icon Construction’s Durant climate-controlled plants before the modular buildings are then shipped out and assembled on site.

Tim Rundel, Durant City Manager said, “It’s a pleasure to come out today and honor a company that pumps a lot of money back into our local economy and getting to know the folks and touring the facility is pretty special.”

The following employees received awards: Mike Coble -10 yrs, Brian Winnett -5 yrs, Darlene Casey -9 yrs, James Hartman-11 yrs, Brandon South -7 yrs, Paul Sweeney-7 yrs, Doug Swain-7 yrs, Jacob Colt Weger -5 yrs, Alicia Edelen -8 yrs, Todd Logan -10 yrs. Purchasing manager, Perry Evans -10 yrs. Quality- Safety Manager, Adrian Aldea-8 yrs. Production Manager, Mike Stoica- 11 yrs. VP of Manufacturing, Eric Salomone- Vice president 11 years, Jamie Womble – Director of Engineering 10 years, Kent Hughlett- 10 years Project Manager, Rodney Whitworth- Sales and Marketing, Alex Aranda- 5 years Head Estimator, Mansour Khayal- President, James Hartman- 10 years, and Chance Shires- Site Supervisor -5 years,Donald Shires- 8 years.

Mansour Khayal President of Icon said, “Amazing group. I love the fact that everybody works together and we have a great company that all the folks that have been working at Icon has been working for and will continue for many years to come.”
