Carol Ann Scott and Ashlynn Robinson of Rock Creek High School successfully tried out for the Heartland Softball All-Star Classic this summer.
Both — who were contributing members of the state champion Lady Mustangs team in the spring as freshmen — were invited to play in the two-day tournament in Pryor. The annual event gives high-school players and recent graduates from Oklahoma and Arkansas a chance to demonstrate their skills in front of scouts and college coaches.
Robinson played on the orange team, and Scott was on the white team, which won the championship.
Scott and Robinson said they would like to thank their coach, Wade Johnson, for pushing them to the limit in practice and giving up his personal time to go watch them play.
The girls were also grateful for sponsorship donations from Body Business, Johnson Heating and Air, John Teel Auction, Texoma Mud Park, Los Arcos and Carter County Dodge.
