The holidays are upon us and a festive spirit is in the air. This is a Season of Miracles within our community. The season has been growing – it’s a season of making a difference. A season of change and wonder – and miracles. There is a “Season of Miracles” luncheon this Thursday.

“Miracles happen daily in our community because of the willingness of our neighbors,” said Ticia Burkhalter, co-founder of Families Feeding Families. “Our community has the New Life House which provides life changing opportunities to women in our community desiring to improve their situation by remaining clean and sober and changing their life situation. Miracles. It happens. Families Feeding Families has been serving within our community for almost 10 years. We see the life situations, patterns and recognize that continual growth is needed. Again – we witness miracles daily and will continue to create opportunities for change within our community. This is a season for life-changing miracles throughout our community.”

The community is invited to the Season of Miracles Holiday Luncheon in Durant. Christmas time is a season for miracles and there is a need to see and realize the miraculous changes that are happening in the community. This is also the perfect opportunity to discuss ways to help eliminate two of the largest issues in our area – hunger and drug problems.

“If you want to be a part of these life-changing, miraculous opportunities, you will not want to miss the Season of Miracles Holiday Luncheon this Thursday, December. 12 from 11:30 until 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Durant,” Burkhalter said.

There will be an inspiring speaker scheduled as well as music sensation Travis Pratt providing the music. There is no cost for this event, but RSVP is necessary due to limited seating. RSVP to seasonofmiracles@familiesfeedingfamilies.org or (580) 230-9142.
