The court hearing on the countersuit filed by developers of the proposed Pointe Vista luxury resort against the state land board, originally scheduled for last Friday, now will be held May 16 in Oklahoma County Court.

The land board sued Pointe Visita Development in January for failure to meet its contract for a lodge and much more on Lake Texoma State Park land. The board asked the court to force PVD to sell the land back to the state.

The company’s countersuit blames the land board for its failure to build the resort and asks for dismissal of the state charges.

While doing nothing on the resort project, PVD has begun work on a 109-home development on land around its Chickasaw Pointe golf course across Highway 70 from the state park. In a press release Feb 19, PVD said it would shut down this new project if the court rules in favor of the land board.
