SE Men set for South Arkansas road swing

DURANT, Okla. - Southeastern will be looking to shake the rust off following a 32 day layoff when it jumps back into Great American Conference play on Jan. 2 when it travels to Magnolia, Ark., to take on Southern Arkansas at 7:30 p.m.
The Savage Storm enter the road trip with a 4-3 record overall and a 2-0 mark in league play, and following the SAU contest will make the trip to Monticello, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Monticello at 4 p.m. on Jan. 4.
The unusually long gap in the schedule developed when another conference road swing to face Arkansas Tech and Harding was postponed due to icy conditions.
SE is led by a trio of double-digit scorers with Urald King pacing that group at 15.6 points per game, while John Balwigaire and Taylor Smaller average 13.8 and 13.6 ppg, respectively.
King also leads the club in rebounds at 8.7 rpg, while as a team the Storm hold a 33.7-to-29.7 rpg edge over opponents.
Smaller leads the team in assists with 3.6 per outing, while Quinton Threadgill is right behind with 3.3 per game.
SAU enters the game with a 4-4 mark on the year and a 1-2 record in GAC play, but are winners of their last two contests.
Jeffrey Walker leads a trio of double-digit scorers with 16.1 ppg, while the team is averaging 83.0 points per outing.
Walker and Alre’k Brown each average eight or more rebounds, while Tyrell Taylor is dishing out 4.8 assists per game.
UAM enters the weekend at 8-2 on the year with a 2-1 mark in league play and currently riding a six-game winning streak.
The Boll Weevils are led in scoring by Brandon Wilson at 17.6 ppg, while the team is putting up 80.1 ppg.
Wilson also paces the team in rebounds with 7.0 per contest, while Jared Harrison is dishing out 3.5 assists per game.
