DURANT, Okla. - Southeastern sets out to open the 2014 portion of the schedule by getting back in the win column when it travels to Magnolia, Ark., to face Southern Arkansas at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 to open a two-game Great American Conference road swing.


The Savage Storm enter the matchup at 5-3 and 2-0 in GAC play and will follow up Thursday’s matchup with a 2 p.m. game at Monticello, Ark., on Jan. 4 against Arkansas-Monticello.


Haley Schaefer leads a trio of double-digit scorers with 11.4 ppg, while Breana Small-Peppers is adding 11.1 per outing followed by the 10.3 ppg from Emily Williams.


Small-Peppers leads the team in rebounding at 7.9 rebounds per game, while Schaefer and Williams each average more than six per game and the Storm hold a 46.5-to-42.1 rpg edge over its opponents.


Williams and Taylor Richards have each dished out 3.0 assists per game, while the team as a whole is averaging 14.5 assists per contest.


SAU enters the game with a 6-3 record overall and a 2-1 mark in conference play and are riding a three-game winning streak.


The Muleriders are led by Chanel Miller at 15.5 ppg, while Miranda Grier and Barvion Wyatt are each pulling down 5.8 rebounds per game.


UAM enters the weekend at 5-4 on the year and 1-2 in the GAC and have win the last two outings.


Jordan Goforth leads a trio of scorers for the Cotton Blossoms in double-figures with 18.6 ppg.


Monique Biggins leads the team in rebounds with 5.8 per game, while Poohnu Perry is dishing out 4.3 assists per game.
