Durant native Damon Jackson who recently won the Legacy FC featherweight championship is now being called to fight in the UFC.
The catch is, Jackson will have only nine days to get ready for his UFC debut.
Jackson received a call on Thursday to replace a injured fighter, Justin Edwards. Jackson’s opponent will be Yancy Medeiros and will fight at UFC 177 on Aug. 30, 2014 in Sacramento, CA.
Jackson remains undefeated with a 9-0 record after he beat Leonard Garcia to take the Legacy FC featherweight championship crown. Jackson won the match in just 90 seconds with a arm-triangle choke hold.
The 26-year-old fighter has finished all nine of his opponents.
Medeiros (9-2, 1 NC) most recently lost first-round submission to Jim Miller at UFC 172 in April.
The Medeiros-Jackson lightweight fight will be on the pay-per-view main card. The headliner on the card will be T.J. Dillashaw vs. Renan Barao 2 for the UFC bantamweight title.
