BENNINGTON – The Bears broke a two-game skid on Monday with a 58-37 pounding over Pittsburg.

Bennington led 28-14 at halftime and kept up the assault, despite a dismal 11-for-27 from the free throw line. Tad Holt led the Bears with 17 points and Chance Haislip checked in with 14 as team scoring leaders.

Also contributing for Bennington: Patrick Hawkins (8), Ryan Lott (7), Devin Dophied (4), Josh Hawkins (3), Dillon Clark (3), and Trevor McWilliams (2).

Bennington (11-5) is currently ranked No. 18 among Class B schools in Oklahoma. They will visit the Wapanucka Indians (2-12) on Friday.

Pittsburg girls 60, Bennington 33

BENNINGTON – The Lady Bears dropped to 8-8 on the season on a cold-shooting Monday night loss to Pittsburg.

The Lady Panthers led 19-6 after one quarter, then held Bennington to just a single point in the second quarter to take a 34-7 halftime lead.

Tristen Allen and Ashten Belvin each scored eight for the Lady Bears. Marynna Mays added seven, Hayle Malone had four, Hayleh Lowrey and Crystal Tate had two each, and it was a single free throw for Kristen Hall and Harley Minyard.
