A Boswell woman was injured Wednesday after falling asleep while driving on Highway 70 1.1 miles east of Boswell in Choctaw County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Sierra D. Ainsworth, 21, was flown by EagleMed helicopter to the Medical Center of Plano where she is being treated for internal trunk injuries, according to the patrol. She is listed in stable condition.

Ainsworth was driving westbound at 2:50 p.m., according to patrol, when she fell asleep and drove off the right side of the road. Her vehicle then traveled back onto the roadway, when she lost control again and traveled off the right side of the road and struck a culvert. The vehicle rolled two-and-a-half times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

Ainsworth, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected approximately 20 feet, the patrol said.

Trooper Tommy Richardson, assisted by Trooper Joe Jefferson, investigated the crash.
