TUSHKA - The ladies from Boswell and Calera got back to winning Friday in the Tushka Invitational. And both got there in grand fashion.

Boswell took a 60-25 win over Stringtown. Tasha Vinyard led the Lady Scorpions with 15, Stacee Bacon added 13 and Nicole Pittman had 12. Others pitching in for Boswell included Calli McIntyre (8), Madison Cress (6), Breosha Williams (4), and Jayci Braudrick (2).

The Lady Dawgs from Calera took a bite out of Moyers in a 52-11 win on Friday. Taylor Pickett led the charge with 13, Lynsie Patton had 11 and Raylee Rogers added 10. Others helping the Calera cause: Kaylee Ervin (6), Baileigh McGuinness and Micaela Cartman (4 each) and Alli Jackson (2).

Wright City 63 Tushka 60 (OT)

Miranda Schaefer (little sister to Southeastern hoops standout Haley Schaefer) poured in 24 points to help the LadyJax of Wright City outlast host Tushka 63-60 in overtime.

Kayla Wilhite hit six from downtown to lead the Lady Tigers with 18 points. Katelyn Cook added 11 and Logan Carbaugh scored 10. Others scoring for Tushka: Kelsey Chambers (7), Jayden Eaves and Morgan Moore (6 each).

Moyers 72 Calera 63

Jonathon Daniel scored 27 for the Bulldogs even as the team went 0-2 and suffered elimination at the Tushka Invitational. Connor Hamilton scored 12.

For Calera, Tanner Davis added nine and it was seven apiece for Braxton Barton and Preston Barkley.

The Bulldogs will be in action Tuesday when they host Rock Creek, which also went 0-2 in tournament play last week in Kingston. This game will be a re-match of the Rock Creek tourney semifinals back in December, won 47-33 by Calera.

Boswell 53 Wright City 52

The Scorpions advanced to the championship game of the Tushka Invitational by virtue of a last-minute win over the LumberJax. A three-point play by a Boswell guard sealed the win for the 12th-ranked Scorpions over No. 4 Wright City.

Boswell faced the host Tigers for the tournament crown. Tushka defeated Antlers in the semifinals on Friday.
