Durant ISD Choral Department will be performing the musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie Junior” the on Saturday Nov. 3 through Monday Nov. 5.

The play will be held at the Durant High School Auditorium. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door.

Seating is general seating only. The play will be performed on Saturday at 7 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7p.m. and Monday at 7 p.m.

According to information provided by the school’s Director of Vocal Music, Deborah Clements, “Thoroughly Modern Millie Junior” is a high-spirited musical romp that has all of New York dancing the Charleston. It’s the zany new 1920’s musical that has taken Broadway by storm.

Taking place in New York City in 1922, “Thoroughly Modern Millie Junior” tells the story of young Millie Dillmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself.

It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz - a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever.

Based on the popular movie, the stage version of includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.
