Road to state goes through Bennington

The road to the Class B fast-pitch state championship goes through Bennington.

The Lady Bears will host a four-team regional bracket on Thursday and Friday. The action kicks off at noon Thursday when No. 8 Bennington (21-4) hosts Coleman. No. 20 Tupelo (11-15) and No. 9 New Lima (19-7) will square off at 2 p.m.

An elimination game will be held at 4 p.m., while the winners of the earlier games will go head-to-head at 6 p.m. A Friday game to determine a championship match-up will be held at noon, then the regional final is at 2 p.m. A trip to the state finals will be at stake.

In Class A, Rock Creek will face Fort Towson at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rattan. The winner will battle either Clayton or second-ranked Rattan (30-4) in a 6 p.m. Thursday game.

In Class 3A, Kingston takes on No. 19 Plainview at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sulphur.
