THE COLONY, Texas — Southeastern fired a second-round 291 and finished with a two-round total of 595 to finish ninth in The Classic at The Tribute in The Colony, Texas on Tuesday.

The event which was held at the 6,535 yard, par-72 course inspired by some of the greatest holes in the world of gold will serve as the fall season finale for the Savage Storm.

SE posted a first round tally of 304 on Monday before shaving 13 strokes off for a second-round mark of 291.

The Storm was paced by Robert Perry who fired rounds of 74 and 71 to finish with a 145 in a tie for 17th.

Greyden Blevins opened with a 76, but recovered to fire a 73 on Tuesday to finish with a 149 in a tie for 34th.

Jay Ray continued the theme of improving from the first to the second round firing a second round 74 after a first round tally of 77 to post a 151 and tie for 41st.

Jeff Hunter posted the biggest improvement between rounds, turning in a 73 on Tuesday after firing an 80 in the first round. He finished with a 153 in a tie for 56th.

Matt McIntosh rounded out the SE competitors with rounds of 77 and 82 to post a 159 in a tie for 60th.

Newman won the event with a score of 562, followed by Midwestern State at 575 and Cameron at 576.

Fellow Great American Conference member Henderson State finished one slot ahead of SE in eighth with a 588, while East Central fired a 596 and finished one shot behind the Storm in 10th.

Southeastern will get back on the links in the spring when it heads to Las Vegas, Nev., to play in the Las Vegas Desert Classic on March 2-4.
