The Southeastern Savage Storm (9-5) are back in action Saturday to try and stop a two-game slide when they take on the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm at Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.

Chris Roussell (15.9 ppg) and Steven Kohli (12.2 ppg) will undoubtedly use their inside-outside presence to protect the Storm’s 7-0 home court record so far this season. Southeastern is outscoring opponents 74-68.

Their 5-3 record in the Great American Conference places Southeastern third behind Southwestern and Harding (Ark.). Both are 6-2. The Savage Storm briefly held first place after a five-game win streak earlier in the season.

Southern Nazarene comes in with a 9-6 mark and a 4-5 record among conference foes.

Meanwhile, the women of Savage Storm basketball will start things off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, also against Southern Nazarene. Southeastern is 5-9 (3-5 in GAC) while the Crimson Storm women are 8-7 (5-4 in GAC).

Bailey Welch (11.1 ppg) and Ronay English (10.8 ppg) are just about splitting the top honors for scoring, with Haley Schaefer and Emily Williams right behind the pack. Schaefer averages 6.1 boards per game as the top rebounder on Coach Darin Grover’s squad.

Southeastern is being outscored by opponents 79.5 to 71. This will be the first match-up of the 2012-13 season between Southeastern and Southern Nazarene.
