Veatrice Viola McCrite a resident of Calera, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the age of 90 years 5 months and 1 day. She was born in Enid, Oklahoma on Wednesday, August 30, 1922 to Leslie John and Edna Pearl (Roberts) Quilling. Veatrice was married to Wilbur O. Wines from December 1940 thru July 1976, then she married Ray O. McCrite September 1977 thru 1988.
Veatrice committed her life to caring for her family and home. She was a seamstress by trade. Veatrice was a member of the United Methodist Church in Colbert, Oklahoma and also the Calera Eastern Star #490. She enjoyed crocheting and camping.
Mrs. McCrite is survived by her son, Leslie Wines and wife Judy of Denison Texas and Bud Wines and wife Vickie of Cartwright, Oklahoma; daughters, Ida Bridges and husband Harlin of Platter, Oklahoma and Sherry Bridges and husband Winford of Cartwright, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren,17 great-great-grandchildren and sister Madelyn Apple of Calera, Oklahoma. .
Mrs. McCrite was preceded in death by her parents, Les and Pearl Quilling; husbands, Wilbur O. Wines and Ray O. McCrite; infant daughter, Viola Beth Wines.
Family Hour will be from 4-5:00 PM on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 4, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Colbert with Rev. Kristianne Smith and Rev. Randa Norman officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Colbert, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Veatrice’s grandsons.
