Zelpha Marie Thomas went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 25, 2013 at age 83. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Birdie Smith, brothers, Everette and Elzie Smith, sister, Betsy Smith, grand daughter Kendell Harris and loving husband, John Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas is best known by those who love her as being a strong woman of faith as she led childrens’ ministries and played the piano in church for several years. She raised her family with the same devotion to Christ.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her daughter Sharon and husband Mike Harris of Ft. Worth, Texas and daughter Donna and husband Ricky Grams of Plano, Texas. Mrs. Thomas’ seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren include: Grand daughter LaVonna and husband Darrell Sechrest and children Tyler and Ellie Neethling and Sophia Sechrest, grandson Tom England and sons Elijah and Toby England, grandson Mike Harris, and grand daughter Julie Nation and children Brandon, Maddison, and Brittany Nation, grand daughter Michelle and husband Bob Valliere and son Benjamin Valliere, grandson David Johnson and grandson Sean Johnson and wife Jennifer and children Jillian and Rider Rabideau. Mrs. Thomas leaves behind a large family forever touched by her grace and undying love.
Family hour will be Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home. Mrs.Thomas’ funeral service will be Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mead, Oklahoma. Rev. Randy Lewis will be officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Calera, Oklahoma. Zelpha’s family will serve as pallbearers.
