Senior Ciera Taylor finished up her career as a Lady Lion as she led her team with a 8 points. Breanna Simmons had 5 points and Tristan Hamilton chipped in 3 points.
It was a tough match-up for the Lady Lions against top ranked Lady Cards.
Durant’s offense couldn’t get in a offensive rhythm all night. In the first period, Taylor scored the opening bucket, but the rest of the period went to the Lady Cards as they went on a 10-0 run and the Lady Lions trailed 10-2 at the end of the quarter.
In the second period, Taylor again got the Lady Lions first bucket. Then Collinsville went on a 4-0 run. Simmons was fouled and split her free throws and the Lady Lions trailed 14-5. But, Durant couldn’t buy a bucket for the rest of the period as the Lady Cards took a 21-5 halftime lead.
Durant’s scoring problems continued in the third period. Simmons scored in the opening minutes of quarter and Taylor scored a bucket, but that was all as the Lady Cards continued to roll to a 34-9 lead headed into the final frame of the game.
Taylor, Simmons both got baskets and Hamilton scored three points from the free throw line in the fourth period, but that was all the scoring for the Lady Lions in the period as Collinsville went on to win 47-16.
