SILO – It was business as usual for the Silo Rebels on Thursday as they opened district tournament play with a pair of convincing victories.
The Rebels blasted Achille, 10-0, in the opener as senior Hunter Ratcliffe fired a perfect game. In the nightcap, it was all Silo again during a 10-4 win over Soper.
Silo meets Soper again for the district championship this morning at 10 a.m.

Ratcliffe was in complete command throughout as he did not allow a base runner and struck out seven Eagles in the process.
At the plate, the Rebels got a big effort from Kash Walls, who had two doubles. Korben Ford also contributed a double and single.
Silo got single hits by Dainjer Robinson, Joyal Savage, Parker Holland, Trevor Daily and Braeden Wright en route to the run rule victory.
Silo 10, Soper 4
Sophomore southpaw Dylan Turner went the distance on the mound, scattering eight hits with three strikeouts and did not walk a batter.
The Rebels had a hitting bonanza at the plate with several players adding multiple efforts.
Hollard fueled the charge with a double and triple. Ford had two hits, including a double, with Savage and Wright tossing in two each as well.
The fifth-ranked Rebels improved to 23-5 on the season.
