Calera boys, Caney girls make finals of First United Silo Invitational

SILO - Two area schools - Calera and Caney - advanced to the championship games here Friday night in the 1st United Silo Invitational Tournament.

The Bulldogs moved to the final game following a 53-49 win over the Healdton Bulldogs.

For the second time in less than a month, the Lady Cougars defeated the Silo Lady Rebels. The 52-49 win advanced Caney to the championship game.

In other semifinal action, the Healdton Lady Bulldogs also advanced to championship game following a 65-40 win over Stuart, and the Silo Rebels fell to the Stuart Hornets, 62-53.

Healdton's Bradi Strange had a tournament-high 28 points - 20 were first half points, and Kaili Strange added 11.

Krystle Kountz led Stuart with 22, which included four three-pointers and four-of-five from the line.
