DURANT - Two Southeastern Savage Storm Softball players took weekly honors from the Lone Star Conference League office for the week of April 17-23. Seniors Emily McNamara and Christina Cearley each had outstanding weeks in the Lone Star Conference North Division. McNamara was named Hitter of the Week, and Cearley was named Pitcher of the week.

McNamara, a 5-5 shortstop from St. Paul, Minn. was 9 for 12 (.750) at the plate last week in leading the Savage Storm to a share of the LSC North Division championship with four wins over Cameron. She hit safely in all four games, including a 3 for 4 showing with two RBI, a triple and a stolen base in the series opener.

Cearley, a 5-11 right-hander from Tulsa, allowed just two runs and struck out 24 batters in 16 innings last week as she went 3-0 to pace the Savage Storm to a four-game sweep of Cameron. She scattered 10 hits throughout the week, getting complete games in both of her starts and making two successful relief appearances in moving to 22-5 for the season.
