Graveside services for James Alvin Martin, 36, of Atoka, who passed away September 1, 2006 in Durant will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Kemp Cemetery. Rev. Doug Lott will officiate.

James was born June 21, 1970 in Toledo, Oregon to Alvin Lynn Martin Sr. and Barbara (Lockler) Martin. James moved to Oklahoma in 1980 from Oregon and attended Durant Schools and was a truck driver by trade. James enjoyed horses, hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and watching movies. James was a member of the River of Life Christian Fellowship Church. James will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

James was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Ruth Lockler and Adon Martin.

James is survived by his wife, June, of the home; mother Barbara Martin of Durant; father Alvin Lynn Martin Sr. of Guymon; sisters: Teresa Martin of Durant and Penny Martin of Oregon; brothers; Jody Nichols of Garland, Texas, Jimmy Lynn Nichols of Colbert, and Alvin Lynn Martin Jr. of Germany; granddaughter Maddie “Little” Fox of Caney, grandmother; Allene Martin of Portland, Oregon, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 1-6 p.m. today and Monday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

The family requests memorials be made to the River of Life Church in the name of James Martin.
