Faught loses primary but carries Bryan County

U.S. House District No. 2 candidate George Faught lost the Republican primary election district wide, but he carried Bryan County, according to returns released by the Bryan County Election Board.

Faught received 74.53 percent, or 840 votes, compared to 25.47 percent, 287 votes, for Markwayne Mullin. District wide, Mullin won by 56.8 percent.

In the Democratic primary for U.S. House District No. 2, Rob Wallace received 59.99 percent, 1,961 votes. Wayne Herriman received 40.01 percent with 1,308 votes.

District wide, Wallace won the nomination by 57 percent.

Mullin and Wallace will face off in the November general election.
