Prevent Blindness Oklahoma, a nonprofit agency dedicated to eye health and safety, will be at Calera Schools Monday and Tuesday.

Through its Children’s Vision Screening Program and a 26-year partnership with the Oklahoma Masons, free vision screenings are being provided at Calera Schools on those days.

If vision is the problem, early detection and proper correction can prevent permanent vision loss and negative attitudes toward school.

“Eighty percent of what a child learns is visually acquired, said Anita Schlaht, director of programs for Prevent Blindness Oklahoma. “And 86-percent of children never receive an eye exam.”

For more information on the eye exams to be held at Calera Schools Monday and Tuesday, call 434-5603.
