A Durant woman was killed Monday on Highway 70 in Choctaw County after being thrown from her vehicle, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Meranda Leeann Williams, 18, died at the scene of the 7:20 a.m. crash in the town limits of Soper.

According to the patrol, Williams was driving her sport utility vehicle eastbound when she drove off the roadway to the right, traveled approximately 200 feet and struck a tree and a fence. The vehicle then rolled one time, ejecting Williams approximately 50 feet.

Williams was not wearing a seat belt, according to Trooper Darrell Wofford’s report. The driver’s condition was not known at the time of OHP report. It was also not known why her vehicle left the roadway.
