Durant City council honored city employees for years of service during Tuesday evening’s council meeting.

During the latter portion of the council meeting Tuesday, eight city employees were honored for hitting milestones with the city.

Royce D. Gaskill, Rebecca Parr and Amy D. Brown were awarded a certificate, lapel pin and $50 for their five years with the city.

George M. Lanister was honored for his 10 years of employment with the city. He received a certificate, Lapel Pin and $100.

Andy Navid and John E. Vietta were honored for their 15 years with the city. Each received $150 along with a certificate and lapel pin.

Ben Veenstra hit his 20 year milestone with the city. He received a $200 with his certificate and Lapel Pin.

Robert Russell received a plaque and $350 with his certificate and lapel pin. Russell has been employed with the City of Durant for 35 years.
