MONTICELLO, Ark. – Despite a 15 kills outing from Megan Kunkel, Southeastern saw its road issues continue in a 3-1 loss at the hands of Arkansas-Monticello on Saturday in Monticello, Ark.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 2-20 on the year and 1-7 in GAC play, but also leaves the squad winless in true road games and stretches its losing skid to 11.

SE will have another chance to change all those listed numbers on Oct. 16 when the Storm travels to Weatherford, Okla., to face Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 pm.

Kunkel’s 15 kills led all attackers in the game, while Emily Gentle added a 10 kill effort as well.

Marina Dias led the dual setters with 15 assists, while Madelynne Cera added 11. Dias also chipped in two kills and five digs while Cera added three kills.

Gentle posted the double-double with a team-best 12 digs, while Kristin Martin added 10 and was SE’s only other double-digit digs defender.

Jasmine Everage posted a pair of solo blocks at the net with Martin adding a solo of her own to account for the three Storm team blocks.

SE dropped the first set 25-19, but recovered to even the score at 1-1 with a 25-21 win in the second set. UAM, however, would take the final two sets by scores of 25-15 and 25-16 to clinch the victory.
