E.F. “Hawk” Hawkins, 80, of Durant passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at his home. Hawk was born August 25, 1932 in Durant to Eurskin Fred and Evelyn (Byrd) Hawkins. He was a lifelong resident of Durant and graduated from Durant High School and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Hawk proudly served his country in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged. He married Gwen Lester in Durant on April 18, 1953. Hawk ran the Southeastern print shop until his retirement. He was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ and he liked golf, fishing, hunting, traveling, cat napping and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Hawk is survived by his wife of 59 plus years, Gwen of the home; daughter Cyndi Hawkins of Durant; two granddaughters Hollie Plummer and husband Luke of Sallisaw, OK and Crystal Howard and husband Danny of Mustang; four great grandchildren Kelsey and Lyndsey Plummer and Beau and Bella Howard and one sister Joyce Morrison of Durant.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at the Northwest Church of Christ in Durant. Ernest Sturch will officiate. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.

Services are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service Durant, Oklahoma.
