Governor Mary Fallin and Markwayne Mullin made an appearance at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Center and Library in Durant Friday evening. The two held a 30-minute meet and greet at the library.

Durant Mayor Tomlinson and Democrat Rob Wallace showed up at Durant Market Square for a stump speech Saturday evening.

Both groups were in Durant to give their last-minute rally cries to the citizens of Bryan County.

Both Mullin and Wallace are running for Oklahoma District 2 Congressional Seat in the Nov. 6 election.

In an earlier statement, Mullin said that he is running because he had gotten fed up with the government and knew the only way make a change was to run.

Mullin plans to spend only six years in congress. He said his number one goal is to make government smaller not larger.

Wallace said in an earlier interview that he felt compelled to run because he saw how frustrated the people were getting and wants to give the working folks a voice.

He said he has traveled the district for a year and has not found anyone who feels they are being properly represented.
