The house of Dell McLain will be featured in the 2012 Parade of Homes on December 2.
The second home to be featured in this year’s Parade of Homes will be that of SOSU Professor Dell McLain.
The home, located at 523 North 5th Avenue in Durant, is a Queen Anne/Victorian style house. It was built around 1912.
The house is rumored to have hosted the wedding reception for Rosemary Clooney and Jose Ferrer after their first marriage in the 1953.
McLain bought the house seven years ago. He has been living in the house and repairing ever since his purchase.
McLain reported that he has noticed a “presence” in the home over the past seven years. He reported experiencing “strange noises, moving shadows, and doors that open and close by themselves.”
McLain said that this is a daily reminder that “others have walked these floors before.”
