Silo Schools to hold another bond election today

Voters in the Silo School District are headed to the polls again today to vote on a bond proposition to construct and remodel school buildings.

The ballot reads: “Shall Independent School DistrictNumber 1 of Bryan County, Oklahoma, incur an indebtedness by issuing its bonds in the sum of Two Million Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,300,000) to provide funds for the purpose of constructing, equipping, repairing and remodeling school buildings, acquiring school furniture, fixtures and equipment and acquiring and improving school sites, and levy and collect an annual tax, in addition to all other taxes, upon all the taxable property in such District sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof when due, said bonds to bear interest not to exceed the rate of ten (10%) percentum per annum, payable semi-annually and to become due serially within ten (10) years from their date?”

Similar propositions were turned down by voters last year.

There will be seven precincts open and they are:

Pct. 21 Cobb Community Bldg

Pct. 25 Mead Baptist Church

Pct. 26 Victory Tabernacle Ed. Bldg

Pct. 27 Seventh Day Adventist Church

Pct. 28 Silo School Gym

Pct. 33 Faith Lutheran Church
