Murray State College hosted Seminole State College on Monday, February 18th.
A first half three-point explosion by freshman forward Kaylie Baxter gave the Lady Aggies an early lead against the Belles. Baxter hit 5 of her 6 three-point shots in the first half. Baxter joined two other scorers on the night who accounted for 64 of the Lady Aggies total 72 points. Baxter led with 24 points, Toni Cheadle and Sierra Moore each added 20 points. LaShanda Green added 8 points. Despite being outscored in the second half, MSC would hold on for the 51-72 victory.
The men would also benefit from a first-half lead. The Aggies dominated the first period, leading by 14 points at the half. They would hold on to that lead through most of the game, but gave ground late in the second half. The Aggies would go on to win 65-74.
Dvonte Davis led Aggie scorers with 23 points. Other scorers for the Aggies were: Gary Inglett, 17; Dusan Pantovic, 13; Trai Jordan, 11; Clement Bonardo, 7; Dante Wartson, 2; and D’angelo Clark, 1.
The next home game for both teams is Thursday, February 21st versus Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. Games begin at 6:00 pm in Beames Fieldhouse. The MSC women will be wearing special pink uniforms in honor of Breast Health Awareness Month. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as well.
