CROWDER - The Silo Lady Rebels advanced to the next playoff round by ending Caddo’s season on saturday with a 50-45 playoff win.

Hannah Bourne scored 16 for Silo, and Kenslie Stanley added five assists to her 16 point total. Rachel Grider added 12 and Riley Newton hada pair of second half threes which finally put some distance between Silo and the Lady Bruins.

The Lady Rebels will play Talihina at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Wilburton to open the Class 2A Area sub-bracket. Silo must win three straight to get to state; any loss from here on out ends the season.

Bourne had that in mind coming into Saturday’s critical game with Bryan County rivals (and neighbors) from Caddo.

“I thought it would be close. We’ve beaten them twice this year by one pioint and two points,” she said. “Knowing them makes it harder to be rough, but they played well and they play to their strengths. Since this could have been our last game, we knew we were going to give it our all.”

“This was a great team effort. Hannah stepped up and played well inside,” said Silo Coach Dax Simon. “Give Caddo a lot of credit, Coach (Vernon) Johnson and those girls do a heck of a job.”

Having lost a pair of close regular season games to Silo, Johnson knew Saturday would be a tough assignment. “It’s hard in the loser’s bracket. When shots don’t fall this late in the year, you just don’t go,” he said. “But these are good kids with great charcter. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.”

Tobi Miller scored 19 for Caddo, Allison Joines had 14 in her final basketball game, and Lou Pilkilton had eight.

Caddo reached the regional final with a 43-40 win over Howe on Friday. Tobi Miller scored 16 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Lady Bruins, and Lou Pilkilton had 11 points.

Shelby Dellinger had eight points and two steals; Ricki Braziell pitched in seven bench points, and Allison Joines had some critical rebounds.

Silo got to the big game by eliminating the Wister Lady Wildcats 50-35 on Friday. Kenslie Stanley led the way with 20 points and Rachel Grider had 12, including a three-point play in the fourth which pushed the Silo lead to double digits.

Hannah Bourne added six before fouling out, Riley Newton contributed five and Kara Felton had three points for the Lady Rebels.
