A Kenefic man has been charged with sexually abusing a child.
Matthew Charles Davis, 25, was charged Thursday with first-degree rape. According to court papers, Davis engaged in forced sexual intercourse with the victim during the summer of 2006.
An affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Nathan Calloway states the abuse was reported to law enforcement last month. On Feb. 27, Calloway arrested Davis in Kenefic on two outstanding warrants, including conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary.
After booking Davis into jail, Calloway questioned him about the rape allegations and according to the affidavit, he admitted to sexually abusing the victim and also said he was sorry for what he had done. Davis had not bonded out of jail at press time this morning.
In other crimes, Don Taylor Herron, 28, Durant pleaded no contest this week to possession of testosterone with intent to distribute and was given a 10-year suspended prison sentence.
Herron was arrested and charged in July 2012 after Durant Police Narcotics officers searched his apartment and found several vials of anabolic steroids, according to an affidavit.
