Several local players tried out this week for the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State games. Results of the tryout will be announced today. Among them were Durant’s Katy O’Steen and Regan Browne and Caddo’s Erika Miller and Brittany Pilkilton. The status of the postseason honors will be updated to the durantdemocrat.com web-site this afternoon.
Crossover Canceled
As was feared since the early forecast called for rain, the Lone Star Conference Crossover tournament scheduled for this weekend at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex was canceled.
Durant Chamber of Commerce Manager Melissa Galbraith released a statement this morning after getting word of the cancellation, thanking all of the volunteers who assisted in the tournament’s preparations.
Even still, Southeastern managed to pick up two games today. They will play No. 1 Angelo State 3 p.m. at Tushka High School and West Texas, 5 p.m. at Tushka High School
Baseball Moves Weekend Series to Avoid Weather
DURANT — Southeastern baseball has rescheduled its four-game series against Southwestern Oklahoma State to March 29-30 in anticipation of inclement weather predicted for the early part of the weekend.
Sunday, March 29, games will begin at 2 p.m., while Monday, March 30, games are set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
