Bennie “Jean” Owen, 83 of Albany, OK passed away on March 20, 2013 in Durant, OK. She was born on June 8, 1929 in Moscow, TN to Benjamin F. and Catherine (Boldon) Porter. She married W.T. Owen on March 24, 1951 in Shreveport, LA and later moved from Kansas City, KS in 1984 to Bryan County. Jean was a housewife and enjoyed gardening, shopping, fishing, and spending time with her family. She was also a member of the Albany Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 2001, parents, Kenneth Porter, Charlene Chandler, and Janet Sullivan.
She is survived by daughter Pat Sullivan and husband Jimmy of Albany, sons; Willis Thomas Owen, Jr. and wife Mary of Albany, James Robert Owen of Kansas City, KS, and John E. Owen and wife Lisa of Blanchard, OK, grandchildren; Prudy Sullivan, Rob Owen, Ryan Owen, Meagan Bowyer, Kenneth Owen, Zak Owen and Christian Owen, great grandchildren; Sydney Holt, Brittany Owen, Courtney Owen, Noah Owen, Magan Owen, Linley Owen, Foster Owen, Zoe Bowyer, Maryana Owen, and Mykala Owen, and nephew Rudolph Wilson and wife Carlie of Mississippi.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Albany Baptist Church. Bro. Winston Smith will be officiating with interment at Highland Cemetery. Family Hour was held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rob Owen, Ryan Owen, Kenneth Owen, Zak Owen, Christian Owen, Adam Bowyer, and Brian Compton.
