Boys careflighted after morning crash

A two vehicle accident occurred this morning at Carpenter’s Bluff and Hendrix Road south of Achille. Four people were involved and two young boys were taken from the scene by helicopters to the hospital.

Two boys were flown from the scene of a crash this morning at Carpenters Bluff and Hendrix roads.

Authorities said two vehicles struck head on at approximately 7:25 and medical helicopters were dispatched for two injured children, ages 10 and 13. Both were flown to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

An adult man was taken by ambulance to Texoma Medical Center in Denison. Additional details of the accident were not available at press time.

In other accidents, a pickup driver was injured Tuesday after colliding with a Colbert school bus at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday at Fourth Avenue and Sand Creek Road. That person was also airlifted to Dallas and authorities said no one was injured on the bus.

Emergency personnel responded to a crash involving a semi truck and a car at 10:41 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 69/75 south of Durant. An elderly woman who was driving the car was taken by Bryan County EMS to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma.
