Mamie C. Price a resident of Carrolton, Texas passed from this life in Carrolton on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the age of 96 years 7 months and 8 days. She was born in Albany, Oklahoma on Friday, April 7, 1916 to John Pruitt and Jonanna (Culberson) Lee. Mamie married Cecil Price.

Mamie was born in Albany, Oklahoma and was raised on a Smith Lee Farm. She attended Russell High School and dedicated herself to several years at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. Mamie was part Choctaw and was very proud of her Native American Ancestors who traveled on the Trail of Tears. She was married for over 60 years to Cecil Price who was a car dealer in Dallas, Texas where they lived since 1957. Mamie was a non resident member of the 1st Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma where she was very active in the L.L.L. and Esther class. She also worked in the in the kitchen on Wednesday nights with her sister before moving to Dallas, but she came back on weekends. Mamie loved music, gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels. To those who her knew she was lovingly know as Chee.

Mrs. Price is survived by her son, Donald P. Price and wife Gloria of Carrolton, Texas; granddaughter, Donna Schabbing and husband Tom; great-grandchildren, D.W. Schabbing, C.J. Schabbing and Tara Schabbing; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, J.P and Jonanna Lee; sister, Jo Moseley; husband; Cecil Price.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma with Bro Dan McLemore officiating.
