Mary Evelyn “Dyer” Wilson a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma went home to her Lord and Maker on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years and 1 day. She was born to John Covington and Vernia Caroline (Park) Dyer in Pittsburg, Oklahoma on Sunday, December 2, 1928. She married Woodrow Wilson on Tuesday, November 8, 1949 in Pittsburg, Oklahoma.
Mary was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Bennington, Oklahoma. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and especially her cats. Mary was known for her quiet, peaceful nature. She loved and cherished her family. Mary will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her daughters, Theda Wilson Robinson and husband Gary of Bennington, Oklahoma, Annette Terrell and husband Johnny of Bennington, Oklahoma and Laquita Wilson and friend Rick Anderson of Bennington, Oklahoma; sons, Steve Wilson and wife Jamie of Hugo, Oklahoma and Randy Wilson and wife Brenda of Durant, Oklahoma; sisters, Bonnie Patterson of Grand Prairie, Texas, Vera Woods of Dallas, Texas, Tressie McCormick of Mountain View, Missouri and Pauline Ellison and husband Bill of Wesley, Oklahoma; brother, Vincent Dyer of Wesley, Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vernia Dyer; husband, Woodrow Wilson; son, Gary Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Bennington with Bro. Harp Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Bennington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Minyard, William Minyard, Ethan Mitchell, Andy McDonald, James Carlile and Cainen Littrell.
