Steve Roberts
Steve Roberts was born August 8, 1946 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Lewis Buck Travis and Belvia Gladys Mintz and passed from this life on December 19, 2012 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 66.
Steve attended school in Bennington, Oklahoma City and graduated from Durant High School. He married Linda Lou Cosby in Durant and they spent forty years together. Steve worked as an iron worker and welder and he enjoyed calf roping, going to Wright’s Drive Inn and drinking coffee with friends, coon hunting, braking horses and training mules.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; sister and grandparents.
Steve is survived by his wife Linda Roberts of the home; sons Stephen L. Roberts of Boswell, OK, Ricky W. Roberts of Sherman, TX and Billy Shoemake Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter Tyanna Disheroon of Mead, OK; sisters Carol Ann Slover of Tishomingo, OK, Bim Gregerson of Durant, OK and Joni Murray and husband Robert of Durant, OK; brothers Gary Roberts and wife Faye of Durant, OK, Bruce Powell of Durant, OK and Johnny Murray and wife Melody of Mead, OK; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; pets Tuffy, Tip, Rascal, Buddy Roo, Nickie, Bootsy, Cotton and Missy Lou and numerous other family and friends.
Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2012 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
Arrangements were under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service, Durant.
