Funeral services for Richard Wayne Shivers, 82, of Pottsboro, Texas, were held Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home Pottsboro Chapel. Burial was in Rosewood Cemetery, Achille.

Mr. Shivers passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 2, 1930 in Caddo, Okla. to Roy and Belle Deason Shivers. He graduated from Achille High School. He married Wenonah Rochelle on May 10, 1951 in Calera.

Mr. Shivers was a truck driver, retiring from C&H Trucking Co. He was a brick layer and a carpenter. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Lakesite No. 7873 in Pottsboro, Texas.

Mr. Shivers was preceded in death by his wife, son Steve, brother Joe Shivers, George Shivers and sister Dixie Bishop.

Survivors include sons Larry Wayne Shivers and wife Judy of Pottsboro, Texas, Mark Shivers and wife Joyce of Oklahoma City, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
