Isaac “Ike” Miller a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at the age of 93 years 4 months and 8 days. He was born in Blaine, Arkansas on Sunday, October 26, 1919 to William S. and Annie (Basel) Miller. Ike married Irma Lee Pennington in Anthony, New Mexico on Sunday, July 7, 1940.
Ike was a member of The Northwest Church of Christ for 30 years. He was in the Army Air Corp and served his county proudly in the Pacific Campaign flying 65 missions as a Nose and Rear gunner on the B-24 Liberator, referred to as the “Rip Snorter”. Fishing was his passion, but he enjoyed bowling and golf when he was younger.
Mr. Miller is survived by his sons, Bruce Miller and wife Paula of Liberty, Missouri and Gary Miller and wife Kim of Vinton, Texas; grandchildren, Curtis Miller and wife Michelle of Ozark, Missouri, Bren Clawson and husband Devin of Kearney, Missouri and Kyle Miller of Las Cruces, New Mexico; great-grandchildren, Corra and Carlee Clawson of Kearney, Missouri and Eli Miller of Nixa, Missouri; sister, Reba Lovelace of Yeager, Oklahoma.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, W.S. and Annie Miller; wife, Irma Lee Miller; brothers, John and Dean; sister, Marie.
A Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in his honor will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Northwest Church of Christ in Durant with Dr. Greg Clay officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Miller, Eli Miller, Kyle Miller, Devin Clawson, Jay Mauck, Danny Miller, Corra Clawson and Carlee Clawson.
