Durant Fire Department to host open testing

The Durant Fire Department will host open testing on Saturday, April 6 at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex.

The purpose of the testing event is to build a pool of applicants for future openings within the department.

Participants must check in at the multi-sports complex no later than 8 a.m. the morning of the event and should wear athletic clothing. The physical test will include a timed 1.5 mile run, sit-ups, push-ups, and several challenges comparable to typical duties of the job.

Candidates who pass the physical agility test in the morning will be given the written exam that afternoon.
